More than meets the eye
I've been completely devastated by what is going on in our world recently--as I'm sure most of us have been. Times like this remind me that we have so much to work on as a society and reminds me of why I work in the nonprofit sector. I hope one day soon we--as a society--can connect on a deeper and more meaningful level; one without hate or judgement.
I distinctly remember the first time I felt judgement. It was the second grade--I had recently started wearing prescription eye glasses--and a lot of kids made comments about them. Thankfully I had a very understanding and aware teacher, who sat everyone down for a life lesson on being different.
In effort to continue education and overall awareness, I prefer to join buy from brands that give back--whether that's to their own community or more globally. I was over the moon when I found out that Penn Avenue Eyewear not only supports nonprofit causes local to their hometown of Pittsburgh, but also national and global efforts.
I've joined forces with them to offer readers a 10% off code, as well as 10% donation feature. Not only will you save--10% of your purchase will also go to support Girls Who Code with the promo YUPPIE.
